Tribute to an all-time great, Late TS Satyan (Photo-Journalist)
This year is Late TS Satyan’s birth centenary, one of the greatest photo-journalist / story-teller of our times.?His unique black & white photos, captured the ethos of the era and a multi-dimensional story in every frame he clicked.?His pictures of India as it was growing, painted a whole lot of emotional & societal background of the times, in black & white -?one of the best in this genre!!!.?
There are many, many pictures over the years (20,000+), that Sri. TS Satyan captured, every time one views, there is a different emotional chord that he strikes - it was the way he communicated the story behind what he memorialised!!.?I marvel at the sheer depth of stories he presented of the colorful spectrum that is India, in all it’s glory, diversity and it’s richness, that’s why he was one of the best photo-artists of our era.?Check out his art at the Museum of Art & Photography.?And for those of you in Bangalore, there is an exhibition now on in Bangalore, India.

1 年Niranjan, I missed seeing this post earlier. How talented he was! My connection to TS. Satyan resulted from writing my book on pioneering Indian engineering women - Roots and Wings. The picture from an article entitled?“World Studies World”?in the July 15, 1957?edition of Life Magazine showcased the contribution of India’s NPL to the project.?It showed engineer Sarada setting up the instrument to measure radio noise from the sun.
