Once upon a time, I went to Edhi Center in Hayatabad, Peshawar. This was after devastating flash flood in KPK and I wanted to make a small donation. I went inside and met a silly old guard with whitish beard and black uniform who was sleeping on a wooden couch.
I was annoyed at the guard for sleeping during day time. Anyways, I asked him about office location within building. He respectfully pointed me to the room, but something about him shook me so powerfully, that I was totally shaken with disbelief.
When I went inside to give the cheque to clerk, I asked about the man who was sleeping outside on the bench. I was told to my total disbelief that the man was Abdul Sattar Edhi; he had arrived there to supervise relief work. Abdul Sattar Edhi's simplicity and his dedication to humanity was unflinching, and unmatched.
On my way back, I hugged him realizing how lucky I was to meet the only living saint of our times. I am lucky that I have lived in the times of Abdul Sattar Edhi, and met him as well.
