A Tribute to 2024 International Women's Day

Today marks 2024 International Women’s Day, a global celebration of the remarkable achievements of women worldwide. With its origins dating back to March 1911, this day symbolizes a 113-year journey towards advancing women's equality. The theme for this year's International Women's Day campaign, "Inspire Inclusion," resonates deeply with the myriad talents and contributions of women across the globe.

In this campaign, the spotlight is on encouraging and supporting one another to empower to embrace choices in career based on one’s ambition, celebrate the diverse talents of women and help each other to realize true potential or even beyond. The opportunity is now to inspire courage and take risk for women to to collectively forge paths in various spheres of life, particularly women in STEM, to become forces to be reckon with even more. The emphasis is on creating a supportive environment where women can thrive professionally, personally, and socially.

Women play multiple roles in society, each role representing a unique universe with its own set of challenges and opportunities. Whether as mothers, daughters, professionals, friends, or in any other role, women contribute significantly to the tapestry of our communities. Each talent, skill, and perspective is a valuable thread in the fabric of progress and innovation.

In the professional realm, women supporting each other becomes a powerful catalyst for success. Women network programs like MahaDEWI at Delta Dunia Group and the Wifepreneur in BUMA exemplifies our commitment to fostering an environment where female talents can thrive and make meaningful impact to their surrounding communities.

I have made a case how important it is for corporates to embrace peer-driven organisation particularly one like women network to help accelerate inspire inclusion within the organisation and I would like to repeat again in this momentous day that not only corporate should support women network within own organisation but encourage connection amongst women networks to cross pollinate best practice in inclusion and progress and creating even bigger supporting network support.

This reflection serves as a tribute to the collective strength, resilience, and talents of women globally and paying homage for all the female leaders that has been very bold in taking the steps consistently to #InspireInclusion. It is also a call to join me in connecting and developing women networks across companies in Indonesia and beyond to create wider support to all women professionals out there.
