Tribe is born.
Bear with me here, its a bit of story! An although I say 'born' we've actually been here a while. When I moved to the Hawke's Bay in April 2018, I joined VO2 South, part of a close partnership of two companies that had recently split of from Codeblue.
Just one month later VO2 merged with The Instillery.
To be honest, we weren't really ready at that point to become our own brand. So by the grace of The Instillery, we were very privileged to share a brand with one of the new dominant and premium NZ cloud businesses. That has been an honor to share the brand and it is fantastic to see the amazing Cloud journey that The Instillery is taking so many great NZ businesses on.
However we soon started noticing that explaining who we were was becoming increasingly difficult, as the success of The Instillery with their Any Cloud and wins in the Enterprise space in NZ were painting a very different picture than the one that resonated for our regional and Small and Medium business customers.
Then in August 2019 The Instillery and Origin IT merged, and so it became obvious we needed to branch out on our own, find our own identity.
If you have never had to do it, re-branding is not easy. 'Brand' isn't a logo, it means finding your identity and your story. And when you are so busy being a part of others' story it's actually quite a job to get back to your roots.
But we feel we have done just that. After a lot of soul searching and the help of a great process from our partners at Plato Creative, we have been reborn as Tribe. Of course as the term 'reborn' might suggest, it means we are but babes in telling our story and there is much more to come.
But it feels good and it feels real. We are not just marketing or creating a brand, we are focusing on our customers, our market and the type of business that we are passionate about to find our why; which is to: "make smarter business possible".
