Tribe - accelerating reform

Tribe is a not-for-profit consortium led by Carers UK, Shared Lives Plus and Bronze Labs. We work with local councils, Integrated Care Boards and voluntary and community groups to grow, map and connect diverse community capacity.? Our mission is to ensure that everyone, everywhere can find the support and opportunities for themselves or people they care about to live safe and well in the place they call home.???

Recognising our impact and potential, the Department for Health and Social Care recently highlighted our work in its invitation for councils to bid for funding under the Accelerating Reform innovation priorities.?

Working alongside people who draw on support, unpaid carers and people and organisations offering support in local areas, we bring the power of digital technology, including AI, to help promote everyone’s health and wellbeing.?

We do this in three key ways:???

• We support the growth and success of micro-enterprises and other atypical providers, such as Shared Lives Carers, as new sustainable sources of support, including for short breaks and respite for carers, and as local employment opportunities.? Read more?

• We enable the smarter deployment of local volunteers to offer support beyond the typical reach of the formal health and social care system – Read more

• We help to map and link people, including unpaid carers, with activities and opportunities that offer meaning and purpose, that help us to connect us with each other and to maintain our health and wellbeing.? Read more?

Tribe creates circles of mutual support.? Through doing so we are helping to strengthen the resilience of local communities to care about and support one another, to stay safe and well, and to avoid the crises that are placing so much avoidable pressure on our councils and the NHS.?
