Trendy Ceilings Are Trending!
AMF Ceilings (Australia and New Zealand)
Sophisticated quality. High dependability. Outstanding innovation.
We all know ceilings come in white. It’s the most common and safe choice however, scrolling through architectural and interior design magazines and social media posts, I’ve noticed a small trend appearing. People are starting to pay more attention to the so-called ‘Fifth Wall’ (or the ceiling to be correct) and black ceilings can make a real statement or understatement in a space.?
The Fifth Wall is a term some in the interior design space have nicknamed the ceiling. The ceiling can offer almost endless cosmetic design options to enhance a space whilst hiding the untidiness of a plenum and because it is out of reach there are also many more options with regards to materials. So why shouldn’t the ceiling get the same attention as the walls?
Black has a reputation of making rooms feel enclosed or small however, designers are now realising how this once unpopular colour (or shade) can feel. A black ceiling can change the visual dimension of a room and give the illusion that walls are taller than they are, or it can make a room look larger than it is.?It can add drama or simply disappear by emphasising lighting and other decorative fixtures. It is also a great way to define an area without having to add a partition, such as above a service counter or over a common area. It truly is a versatile shade.?
AMF offer a range of black acoustic ceiling solutions which offer various cosmetic finishes and performance benefits; from high-acoustic to high impact-resistance.
