Trends that Healthcare Planners Need to focus on for next few years

 We need to think about the two major areas that planning must focus on Responding to the need for Innovations and the need to respond to social determinants of health.

Response to the Need for Innovation:

1) We must respond to the positioning of retail health. Walmart is making every effort to be the venter of healthcare delivery particularly in rural areas. Also CVS and Walgreens is doing this as well

2) The delivery of care at home primarily through telehealth

3) Provision of dialysis in the home

4) Providing the infusion of antibiotics and also chemotherapy in the home

5) Doing clinical trials for meds in peoples homes

6) The invention and distribution of self monitoring devices(

(The Health system planner needs to plan and develop responses for their facility in these areas)

The other area that Health Planners need to respond to our the social factors that impact heathcare

Planner should. These are often looked at as non-healthcare but they impact the utilization of healthcare

1) Housing Needs

2) Food insecurity(lack of food)

3) Lack of employment

4) Emotional and Social Isolation
