Several trends have emerged as we approach the middle of the airline industry's 2015 earnings season. Despite economic worries, demand remains strong. Ultra-low-cost carriers (ULCCs) are driving down fares which dropped 15% during the year. Industry moves prove just how competitive the industry is, despite consolidation. Airline fundamentals are improving, narrowing the gap with other major industrial sectors. The industry reached the peak of the business cycle last year which will test its resolve in maintaining a conservative approach to financials and capacity. Check out my story over at Forbes.
