Q: How will you describe the acceptance of Nollywood in United States of America?

A: The acceptance is positive and steadily growing. Nollywood is becoming a likeable custom and phenomenon in the United States. The small percentage of White and Black Americans that have participated in our films and those that watched the movies seem to love and yearn to be a part of it! There are a vast majority yet to be captured, conquered, and adopt to this wonderful African/ Nigerian movie Industry. In the sand of time acceptance will be tremendous.

Q: As a major actress here in Atlanta, how easy is it go get a good character role to feature in Nigerian/African movie?

A: There is no easy way, like anything it takes building rapport getting to know film producers and getting affiliated with the right people. My art is my act and reputation allows me to get repeated calls and offers for additional roles. No matter how experienced an actor may be, there are some roles that definitely do not suit everyone. That is why there are auditions. When given a role an actor should just run with it and do the utmost best to deliver and do a great job.

Q: Can you tell us why most African movies are centered on Voodoo (Juju), which is not portraying the image of African continent well?

A: Many Africans movies are centered on the lifestyles of past customs, although it may portray the voodoo aspects that previously existed. I think it also displays an education that teaches how to grow and move forward from the past. I believe the purpose is to promote worldwide and expose cults, ritual murder and human trafficking. This is mostly done for the local African /Nigerian consumption. It is not a major issue because this is part of their culture, they are telling the African culture in their own way.

Q: Why is it that most scripts and story contents in African movie is all about sex, why can't the producers research other good issues to present as fulcrum of their films?

A: I was not aware of any excessive sexual content. If there are such I think, it is to capitalize on the market, it is known that people love Sex. Sex (movies) sell, with that being said I think it mainly goes with the morale of the story and to make a point of what is real. My intention to put forth writing stories that are focused away from sexual issues and focus on the rich history of of the African nation.

Q: Do you think the quality of equipment used in Nollywood production makes it unqualified to enter same league with Hollywood?

A: Better equipment can contribute but does not necessarily mean a better film. It depends on a number of things: like having a good storyline, a locked script, a very good director, and so on. Nollywood has now become the third largest Industry in the world, with great Actors, brilliant script writers, that in itself is awesome. There is a future for Nollywood.

Q: Most women in Nollywood are single. If they eventually get married, they quickly divorce over irreconcilable differences. Do you think Nollywood exert bad influence on the actors/actresses which affect their homes?

A: Marriage is sacred, a commitment made between two people. It is the concept that should apply if one strays it becomes an issue. Nollywood stars are no different . But I believe the stress and the separation of spouses being apart making movies comes into play. Both parties have to be cognizant of what is true to them. The same concept that worked for our grand parents years ago in their 60 years of marriage. Commitment must be in the forefront. In today’s world people no longer take their marriage vows seriously. Sex has become a habit now and partners have lacked the poise, the balance and the preparation of what marriage really stands for. This makes it easy to be an industrial curse.
