Tremendously proud and grateful

This coming weekend, Trinity Western University women's basketball team led by coach Cheryl Jean-Paul will participate in a groundbreaking tournament: the Athlete Women Empowered Classic, a four-team U Sports women’s basketball tournament hosted by York University. Athletics plays such an important part in Canadian culture and highlighting Black, Indigenous and racialized women as leaders in their own right is vital. I am so proud of Cheryl Jean-Paul—a remarkable head coach: focused, articulate, resilient, and a gifted leader—and thrilled that Trinity Western University will host this important tournament next year.

Thank you John Chidley-Hill The Canadian Press for first publishing news of the "Athlete Women Empowered Classic".
