A Tremendous Thank You!

As my time at BMO comes to a close, I want to say a tremendous thank you to all of my colleagues. I joined BMO in 2010. Through my 11 years, I’ve seen Team BMO do incredible things – whether responding to a client need, to changes in the business environment or to urgent community needs.???

I’m a fan of David Letterman so in his fashion, I’ve penned my “Top 5” things that set BMO apart:

?5.??????We walk the talk on purpose. Each quarter, I host a new hires coffee where I always ask: “Why did you come to BMO?” And I always get the same answer: Our sense of purpose sets us apart!?Whether it’s our community spirit (90%+ BMO employee participation in our 2020 United Way Campaign!), our commitment to diversity, gender and racial equity, to sustainability or the many other things that happen here daily, we walk the talk.

?4.??????Great Advice Pays Off - It’s been a thrill to watch our Wealth client loyalty scores double to world class levels over the past 3 years. But numbers alone don’t tell the story of what I have the privilege of seeing – the meaningful difference you make daily in the lives of our clients. Happy moments. Hardships. Moments of change. You’re there for them all. And our clients never forget it.

?3.??????Unapologetically bold approach. We’re not afraid to break new ground. Whether it’s bringing together the power of Private Wealth through an award winning full-service brokerage and private bank, being the first Canadian bank to introduce a robo-advisor and innovate in digital service and advice, leading ETF growth or other firsts - We put ourselves out there with gusto based on our view of what clients need, today and tomorrow.

?2.??????Blazing new trails in technology. We’re committed to responding to change around us by investing in leading-edge technology for our clients and professionals. We’ve built a phenomenal team in tech, digital and data - I can’t wait to see what you do next!

?1.??????The Best People. Our business growth is fueled on great people and strong relationships. And we’ve got some of the best in the business, full stop. Smart, creative, collaborative, client focused, high-integrity, and humble. I will miss your spirit and passion, and while not every day was easy, we did some incredible things and had some fun along the way!

There’s a great saying: “Leave it better than you found it.” COVID has been a challenging couple of years, and I know you’re going to roar out out of this period, even better than you entered it.?I’ll be cheering you on.
