Treat yourself and your business like you would treat your trees
Today I had an epiphany-filled Sunday.
After waking up, I lit the fire, then I went to my garden to prune my apple, pear, plum, and cherry trees for four hours before coming home to write this post. I was meditating in a fasted state and I thought about how we have to prune the trees of our being for it to bear the best fruit, just like the fruit trees.
We all have dead and sick branches, branches that inhibit each other from getting sunlight, and branches that fight each other for dominance.
What happens if we don't cut these?
Although we get big, we are dying from the inside because our innermost branches don't get enough sunlight.
It's like weight loss, in a way.
Cut the crap - become healthy and beautiful.
Leave the crap - wither from the inside.
Grap a pen and a paper - look at the tree of your life and see which branches you want to let live, and which branches you might want to prune.
It will be stressful at first - just like it is for the tree. You're pruning parts of your very being, after all.
But the outcome is worth it.
Seriously,
There's nothing as beautiful as a freshly pruned tree that's been freed from the stranglehold of sick, dead, and unneeded branches.
And I think a beautifully "pruned" person is just as (if not more) beautiful.
