Treasures // Matthew 6:19
By Mark Jordan | Spiritual Advisor
What do you treasure? Can they be ruined or stolen? Can they lose their luster? If so, you need to follow Jesus’ instructions in the following verses: “But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also” (Matthew 6:19-20). This is NOT to say God wants life to be bland, boring, or miserable; after all, He created all, called it good, and wants us to enjoy life. Our sin-problem, though, means that even the best of things can be corrupted, corrupting our lives in the meantime. So, let’s work to treasure God’s Word, Will, and Way and find our lives enriched by treasures that can never disappoint!
