A Treasurer lives in the district of Raichur

Going through the quick headlines of newspaper, a content caught my attention. Before we get into the brief, his motive is the reason for my writing today, a mission of turning the driest region of Karnataka into a green world.

He wakes up at 6 in the morning, takes a ride in the bicycle across the city of Raichur to plant at least 3 saplings before he starts the day routine. He is a daily wage labor with a different dimension of leading life in his thoughts. In the next hours of the day, he water the plants that are planted across the roads, schools, open spaces etc.

Why he is a treasurer for the state of Karnataka?

• Within a span of 17 years, he has planted more than 1000's of trees across the district.
• Kosigi plants minimum of 100 saplings every month
• More than 70% of his planted saplings have turned into trees
• Educating every households in the local about his mission and helps them to nurture plants.

What made him the treasurer of Raichur?

The scorching heat in Raichur, was the first strike of thought for his mission. With the severity of climate change, drought made him to take immediate action of protecting the environment, he started planting trees.

Growing up in the nature, or I could say he grew up "with" nature inspired him to turn Raichur to Malnad in the near future. He is Earanna Kosigi, a treasurer for the Raichur district.

A treasure need not have to be in the form of material. Earanna Kosigi is giving back the treasure to nature, what about us?
