Treasure hunt

Treasure hunt

Dear Hydrogen Pioneers,

It’s August. Vacation time. Have you noticed? I certainly haven’t, not with two kids to look after (school’s out, kindergarten’s closed) and an activity schedule to manage. Meanwhile work has not let up either – for the past two years things haven’t really calmed down over the summer (or so it has seemed). What’s your experience?

Hence the title of today’s newsletter is “Treasure hunt”. Not only is this a great game to keep the kids amused over the holidays but you, too, will find plenty of treasures at www.hydrogen-universe.com. As mentioned last week, there’s a new start page proclaiming “KNOWLEDGE | NETWORK | COLLABORATION”. And as you’d expect from Hydrogen Moves GmbH, it does exactly what it says. More on this later...

Once you’ve logged in, you’ll still find all the #webinar|s available to download free of charge. Plus now, under PUBLICATIONS, you’ll have access to 10 selected reports (max. two years old). If you think your latest studies deserve to be there, then please get in touch with us! Otherwise just feel free to browse the #Hydrogen library we have compiled for you – online 24/7.

Coming soon will be another extended menu in the #HYDROGENUNIVERSE, featuring even more participants, their profiles and the possibility to contact our #H2 MOVERS directly. At the moment we’re allowing you a free upgrade to a MOVER presence as part of our partner packages – unusually generous for us Swabians ;-) So make the most of this additional sales channel. Irma Grandel will give you a live demonstration of how it works in practice. Simply write her here on LinkedIn – and she’ll get back to you ASAP!

Irma isn’t the only person shedding light on a particular topic for us. On September 12, Prof. Dr. Karsten Pinkwart will be talking to us in our German-language webinar on #PFAS. Among his many roles, Prof. Pinkwart is a member of the German government’s National Hydrogen Council, a member of the advisory council for the Baden-Württemberg Hydrogen Roadmap, Deputy Head of Department at the Fraunhofer ICT (Institute for Chemical Technology) and Professor of Electrochemical Energy Storage and Converters at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at Hochschule Karlsruhe (HKA) / University of Applied Sciences.

These days, per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are vital for ramping up the Hydrogen economy. PFAS have unique chemical and physical properties that make their use essential as key components for electrolyzers and fuel cells. However, their resulting persistence in the environment has led to unforeseen challenges since PFAS can also cause genetic changes and cancerous diseases. The effects that a potential ban by the European Commission will have can already be seen to some extent today. The webinar is focused on this legislative procedure, its background, the processes involved and how individual businesspeople can still influence it.

? Webinar topic (German): Herausforderung PFAS – Eine Einordnung (The PFAS Challenge – A Classification)

? Our expert: Prof. Dr. Karsten Pinkwart, Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences (HKA), Fraunhofer ICT

? When: September 12, 2023, 10:00 CEST
