The Engineering and Surveying practice in TRC’s Oil and Gas sector won 3rd place in the 2017 National Society of Professional Surveyors (NSPS) Map Competition. The competition entry consisted of an alignment sheet from the SCANA project in North Carolina. The Oil & Gas Sector is providing Engineering, Surveying and Mapping for the 49 mile 24” Natural Gas Pipe Line located in Polk, Rutherford, and Cleveland Counties.
This win helps gain national recognition for TRC and these practices, and provides a new selling point to highlight to prospective clients.
The survey work was led by Duane Pitre, TRC’s on the ground Survey Supervisor in North Carolina, as well as his field crews along with various engineering and mapping office personnel. Duane is a third generation surveyor and both he and his father Wayne Pitre, a TRC Survey Manager, worked on this project during various stages of the survey effort. Duane's family has a proud history of surveying and service to our county. His Grandfather was a naval surveyor in WWII, his father Wayne served as an Army surveyor during two tours in Vietnam, and Duane himself served in the Air Force in a Military Police unit in Iraq. The alignment sheet production aspect of the project was a team effort led by Hondo Kahbeah, Lead Designer in Tulsa, OK. Capitalizing on our advanced solutions in technology and automated processes these 106-sheet set plans were generated by one designer, on time and under budget. Hondo is a graduate of Oklahoma State University Institute of Technology and is a Certified Blue Sky developer.
Join us in congratulating the entire Engineering and Surveying practice team on this prestigious win!
