Travix's Head of Data Debopam Gosh's Visit to the Trip.com Group Headquarters
I am thrilled to share my recent experience visiting the headquarters of Trip.com Group in Shanghai, and I must say, the journey exceeded all of my expectations.
As many of you know, Trip.com, the multinational conglomerate of online travel agencies, acquired Travix in May 2020. My visit aimed to foster collaboration and exchange of ideas with Trip.com's talented data teams.
The scale of operations at Trip.com was truly impressive. Their analytics and data engineering teams are setting new benchmarks for efficiency and innovation in the industry. I witnessed firsthand how their data products are not only driving impactful internal business decisions but also making a significant impact externally for airlines and content providers. The level of consumption and adoption speaks volumes about the value they bring to the table.
During my visit, I had the opportunity of engaging in technical discussions with Trip.com's team. The energy and enthusiasm for data-driven decision-making were commendable. The Director of Data at Trip.com, Zhenhua Zang eloquently stated, "At Trip.com, we believe that data is the backbone of innovation. By harnessing its power, we unlock endless possibilities and revolutionize the travel industry." Their dedication to leveraging data as a strategic asset resonates deeply with our core values at Travix.
But the journey does not end here. To continue this collaboration, some of our Trip.com counterparts will be visiting the Travix offices in Amsterdam later this year and more of our Travix colleagues will travel to Shanghai. This exchange of expertise and perspectives promises to catalyse even greater collaboration and knowledge sharing between our teams. The learning opportunities are immense, and I am confident that together we will unlock new frontiers of excellence.
On a personal note, my time in Shanghai was captivating. The city's vibrancy and energy left an indelible mark on me, and I even had the opportunity to explore the enchanting city of Hangzhou. And let's not forget the food! The local cuisine was a delightful experience for my taste buds.
In conclusion, my visit to Trip.com Group's headquarters was a transformative experience. The technical discussions and knowledge sharing I had the privilege to be a part of were not only insightful but also invigorating. I am genuinely excited about the potential for collaboration and growth between our teams, and I look forward to the possibilities that lie ahead.
