TravelPeople improving winter resilience

I struggle to cope with the challenges of winter - of having to wear layer upon layer of clothing, of not being able to dry laundry, of not seeing the sun for days (often the case in Cape Town), of feeling cold and miserable. Why is everything just so much effort in winter? And then the realisation hits that these are the problems of a privileged, entitled person. Guilt sets in when I'm reminded of the people who brave the cold in the early hours of the morning to travel to school or work, often on an empty stomach with very few layers of clothing to protect them. I often wonder how they do it - how they keep going? When one is used to struggling, does it make struggling easier? Rising above such circumstances takes more resilience than I can comprehend. What I do know is that every day, regardless of the season, is a day to be grateful. I'm not complaining about winter again ..
