A beautiful journey of suffer and safar with or without humsafar

Travelogue about Lahore:

Traveling requires good company. A safar without a Humsafar is just suffering. These pitstops highlighted in neon orange are stops I suffered (and safared) to and through. First as a young teen, then as a bride-to-be. Throughout this entire safar, all I really wanted to do was travel.?

Hence, trips from Home 1 to GCU were spent fantasizing, trying, and even plotting to find a Humsafar.

A trip from the airport became my ticket to travel. To make the necessary arrangements my safar destinations shifted to the east. Main market was the place for all the possible things I would need for my travels and ichra was option B when main market prices would exceed my budget.

As the day finally arrived, so did my Humsafar. “What took you so long”. I thought as we drove to Home 2. We traveled as much as could possibly be done in the span of one month. To my surprise, however, some travels were safars, I would suffer even with a Humsafar. The Nausea from bumpy car rides started accompanying me to bed and would make me up too. And in the blink of an eye, a second trip to the airport was going to end in a suffer, stripped of my Humsafar.?

I suffered, back and forth, from Home 1 to a family hospital and back to missing suffering, traveling even doing absolutely nothing with my Humsafar. I felt cheated, betrayed, and fooled for having given up what seemed like nothing to get what meant everything.?

Turns out. Traveling and suffering, both require fuel, vehicles, and in some cases visas. All of which require mint. Mint I didn't have. Mint I gave up because I was blinded by the lust for something. So much so that I gave up everything.

But what would become of this little orange-sized "thing”? She has yet to experience so many safars, first days, and school trips. Fancy dresses and science fairs. Festivals and Milads. Where is her vehicle, her fuel, her mint?

As this realization sped toward me and hit me like a 16-wheeler, my priorities and bones rattled back to where they should be.?

That is when safar and travel became one and the same with the Almighty as my Best Humsafar I returned back to Home 1, to and from KCWU, and did what needed to be done as was done by my parents.?

Several U-turns, accidents, and repairs later I now travel along all these routes with my best Humsafar, my legal Humsafar, and my sweet baby Humsafar. I pray for everyone to experience suffering in Lahore. Lahore is the city for the most memorable safars, the sweet sufferers, and the best Humsafars.
