Traveller Made report on future trends

Very interesting read sent to me today from Traveller Made trends and recommendations to successfully get back to business:
- Domestic and close-to-home travel - While many international and inter-regional borders will remain closed for a while, many countries are starting to allow domestic travel in their national territory.
- Multigenerational travel and travel with friends is another trend that has established itself over the past years, however the current situation brings it to another dimension. After a long confinement, families and close friends are craving to be able to reunite and enjoy one-another’s company in extraordinary settings that can provide the utmost level of service and therefore of safety and hygiene.
- Privacy - Until now sought after mostly by the ultra-wealthy, privacy is gaining more breath. It is not only a lifestyle choice, but an increasing must for one own’s feeling of safety. Not only are travellers not in close contact with other travellers they don’t know, but the staff is dedicated only to the travellers’ party, and often live on property, therefore minimizing external points of contact.
- Nature & Open Spaces - Space to breathe is the new luxury. Urban travellers will increasingly trade the hustle and bustle of crowded destinations for less travelled ones, that offer the luxury of open space.
- Sports, Wellness & Healthy Lifestyle - People have been interested in wellness travel for a while, however the importance of health is bigger now than it has ever been. The phrase “health is you new wealth” is now an absolute truth, and wealthy travellers value it more than ever.
- Sustainability and Self-improvement - Another trend that is climbing at new heights in the wake of this pandemic is that of sustainability, both for the environment and for oneself. Over-tourism has left its mark on many ecosystems and landscapes; however, travellers have not necessarily managed to identify themselves as part of the cause for that.
- Workcations - Remote work has been a necessity during the confinement, and many people and companies have learned a lot from it, realizing that some jobs can be done remotely just as efficiently as from an office, if not even better.
- Exceptional Now -Whether it encompasses one or more of the above trends, what wealthy travellers are looking for is The Exceptional, and they want it Now. This recent crisis has humbled us and made everyone realize their vulnerability and the relativity of everything in life.
