Traveling and Working Anywhere? This will make your life easier.

Traveling and Working Anywhere? This will make your life easier.

I hate to stay inside the office (if not needed).

Don't take me wrong. I love the team, I love the people, but I would not stand to work 100% of the time inside an office.

I love the flexibility to work anywhere and, more than that, I love traveling. Every single point of traveling: the people, the airport, the airplane, the time you have to think about your own life and organize stuff in your mind, the time you have to share with your wife, kids and family.

It's great put all the kids into the car or in the plane and share their "deepest children thoughts", fears and that bad energy that flows from them when they are tired! :)

The same way it's great to get into a plane, in a long business trip, where you can disconnect and organize your brain "hard disk" just waiting to meet your mates and customers in the other side.

When you travel you change your mind, rethink your opinions, get in touch with diversity and sometimes have the opportunity to receive different messages from outside.

For instance, during my first trip to China, as soon as the plane touched town at the airport, I felt like I was the minority; at Saudi Arabia, I faced a different religion and could learn outstanding points of view from other culture; at Africa, I felt incredible to feel the people happiness and joy (much greater than mine) in such complicated conditions.

Every trip is a lesson, if you are open to take the classes.

Every people you touch, every place you go, every gorgeous landscape, every bite on a delicious food or every sip in an incredible wine.

Since I have been traveling at least 50% of my time (business and leisure) for long years, I consider myself as an "anywhere office" early adopter.

If you want to test this life, or if you get into this life after the pandemic, here are some tools and hacks that would make your life much easier.

  1. The backpack is your best friend.

You need to have a good and strong backpack. Don't be cheap. The backpacks suffer in trips and if you buy a crap, you will by again, and again, and again.

My Thule backpack has 6 years old and looks like new, the only damage was done by my dog that bite the zipper! :)

2. Wework All Access

As everybody knows I am a Wework fanboy. With this Wework All Access you get access to several great offices around the world, and believe me: great, great offices, great internet, cool people, great energy, beautiful meeting rooms, regular coffee (they need to improve it) and... free beer. :)

3. The gadgets and the Streaming

Thanks God for the Download and Go. It changed my travel experience. Before any flight or trip, I just download movies, books, musics and podcasts to guarantee that I would have good content all over the flight on my phone and kindle.

4. The bag (Luggage)

Same rule as the backpacks. Don't be a penny pincher, otherwise you will need to buy a new luggage for each trip.

If you want to be happy. Choose a bag that do not need to be checked. Checking bags are waste of time and generally a big cause of stress.

Believe me, you don't need to check bags unless you need to take gifts or something that cannot go inside the plane.

5. The medicine

Easy: Hangover, Headache, Paracetamol

People say I am an old guy because I travel with medicine but I can tell you I have already saved a lot of "young guys" that forgot to bring it. :)

6. Rope and the Elastics

I am not the fitness guy, but when you travel you need to make it. With a rope and some elastics you will do well even when you do not have a good gym.

7. The Earphones

Big pause here: This is serious. Get a good active noise cancelling earphone and it will change your life. You never know when and where you will need to get a call and, besides that, it helps a lot to reduce flight noise.

6. Water

Drink Water. Just that.

8. Common sense, Respect, Inclusion and Diversity responsibility:

This is the most important. So many people get out of home and forget the common sense. Shared spaces demands common sense. Different cultures demands diversity responsibility and good souls come together to a great inclusion and empathy backgrounds.

Please feel free to share your travel hacks and tools!

I will be amazed to learn more tricks! :)
