The coronavirus pandemic has caused all those who have traveled the world so far to be grounded. For those who have been traveling mainly during the holiday season, the problem is not yet as visible as for those for whom traveling is the greatest pleasure and true hobby. And while we know that the tourism industry has suffered greatly from the closure of borders, the world has had the opportunity to learn what online travel is all about. What is it? How can you move around the world without leaving home? And can it be just as satisfying?
Traveling online - how to do it?
Some people don't believe in online expeditions - which is somehow understandable, because without getting to know new cultures through touch, smells, tastes, sounds and tangible experiences, traveling suddenly becomes less and less enjoyable. But I belong to this group, which decided to draw as much as possible from online travel - and give as much as possible. That is why I believe that we should reject all prejudice and let ourselves be drawn into a form of travel that we can afford.
Go to the opera or the ballet!
Traveling the world is one thing, but who wouldn't want to see the famous Carmen from The Metropolitan Opera in New York? With streaming, it's possible now, and that's not all. London's British Museum allows you to see the Egyptian mummies resting in it, and the beautiful Musée d'Orsay opens its doors. Perhaps the most comprehensive gallery of impressionism on the Seine's shores, considered to be the best museum in the world in 2018, has numerous Monet and van Gogh works in its collection. Google Arts & Culture allows for a virtual tour of the place - and more.
Virtual 360 tours
The panoramic pictures and good quality recordings allow for a variety of tours. Not only scenic, but also educational - whether you're visiting the zoo to see the great pandas, or you're visiting the unknown corners of the natural world. The Australian Victoria Zoo is at the forefront of sharing recordings of its animals. The 360-degree tours are mainly associated with Google Street View, but that's not all - there are places like spacerywirtualne.pl or roundme.com that allow for spontaneous trips with safety and isolation,
Traveling around the world online? I accept the challenge.
The coronavirus pandemic was a huge change for me. In May of this year I was to set out on a journey around the world with Noa the robot, with the goal of traveling without leaving a carbon footprint. Well, when moving the expedition to the net I did not have to worry about it. And although I will not meet face to face with wonderful people from different cultures, I will not experience loneliness during the long journey, in which I was supposed to be accompanied only by a robot, I do not want the Power4Change expedition to be cancelled. That is why I moved it to the Internet - Power4Change Human Expedition is 16 weeks full of emotions. I am teaching the Pole Method anew, I work in a group on Facebook, I meet people from all over the world at online lectures. Do I regret that I did not go on a trip? Of course. But I want to do my best - despite everything. Because the 3S strategy (with emphasis on social empowerment) is more important now than ever.

4 年online expeditions... it sounds interesting ;) but I think the current situation with covid-19 gives us an opportunity to see our neighborhood, discover something simple and unique
