The travel industry will be revived because as humans we are who we are!
Human beings possess some amazing built-in characteristics which we can always count on. Those will sustain us, our businesses and the travel industry.
Count on human nature.
Human beings are inventive. Covid19 is a problem, and there is one not so obvious thing about problems; they excite us humans. Well not obviously and outwardly, but we flourish because of problems. When a problem affects us, it appeals to our nature to go solve it. Pay attention. Close attention. Humans will solve this problem because of our aptitude for inventive problem solving.
Human beings are gregarious. Being gregarious means to be sociable. Is it not our sociable nature which is responsible for the existence of the travel industry? People travel to meet and interact with other people. Those who are starved for a hug, or long to see a smile on someone’s face but can’t because it is hidden by a mask, know exactly what I am talking about. We are gregarious, and when this is over, we will travel the world to hug and smile; and also to see the sights.
Human beings are explorers. “Not all those who wander are lost”, said J.R.R. Tolkien. He is right. Those who love to travel are wanders at heart. We want to get out and explore; to find what is not lost, to experience places which are fascinating, and to mingle with interesting people. Explorers must wander.
We can all bet on the human spirit to fully revive travel.

4 年In Those islands who allow mother nature not human nature to steer our course. We should.be changing to our environmental needs not desperately and fatally changing our natural surroundings to attract people who come for that very specific thing we call nature. My note here, respectfully, addresses those travellers seeking out eco friendly, natural locations like St. LUCIA AND DOMINICA to name a few. We fail to realize by destroying and modifying our ecosystems to meet the financial numbers is appalling.
