TRAUMA-INFORMED LEARNING@EAMU

Many African nations have gone through profoundly traumatic experiences of slavery, colonialism, post-colonial dictatorships, endemic armed conflicts, civil wars, genocide, state collapse, terrorism, refugees, internal displacement, gender violence, and multitudes of other consequences of social, economic, and political upheavals like poverty and disease. Students who hail from these communities come with many intergenerational wounds. EAMU welcomes these wounded learners and engages them in conversations that have a healing purpose so that they, too, can become wounded healers in their communities.

This is such a wonderful insight. I have not thought about this paradigm but it’s so very needed in so many parts of the world, especially Africa. Thank you Dr. Rudasingwa.
