Trashing the Camp
I recently learned to love this song from the animated movie "Tarzan".? Rosie O'Donnell, Phil Collins and cast do this fun little son as the animals are heading through the jungle to find the camp of the humans who are there to study the gorillas.? The humans being perceived as a threat, the animals decide to trash the camp in an attempt to get the humans to leave.? Their departure ultimately didn't happen as planned however.
Despite the goal of the animals to trash the camp, they were cooperatively having a great time celebrating life with this celebratory song.? It is one I like to listen to on repeat.
With words like
"shoddy door dobby drop dobby drop dobby da do doo dap Do bop, she doo, whoo"
and a fun tune in Phil Collins' style, it is hard to not be filled with the frivolity the animals were experiencing while doing something the humans were going to be upset about.
Sometimes we need to "trash the camp"? and do something in some aspect of our life which is good for us, feels good, but may not be viewed as a positive by others. Or when something that started out as good is no longer providing us with any value or has started to detract from our own inner peace and happiness.? Maybe it is ending a relationship, quitting a job, moving to a new city.
It doesn't matter.? When you think things are beyond your ability to cope, give this song a listen.? If you don't have a smile on your face, listen another 10 times.? After that, write Walt Disney, ask for your money back and go back to your day.
This tune will however, be stuck in your head.
You're Welcome.
