WHAT IS TRAQUA CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
TRAQUA is a collaborator responsible for dye tracings in the CWEPPS project EPU-karst. The study investigates groundwater nitrate vulnerability in karst systems, focusing on five selected sites.
The study employs advanced multivariate analysis to identify key factors affecting nitrate concentrations as water flows from surface to underground caves. The project aims to provide recommendations for protecting water resources in Wallonia, with the help of trained speleologists as "karst sentinels."
Other projects we continue to work on are: (1) hydrological studies related to urban planning permit applications, (2) development of an educational piezometer for a commune in Wallonia to inform citizens about groundwater, and (3) risk and impact assessment at a quarry site.
