WHAT IS TRAQUA CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
TRAQUA is currently conducting tracer tests in 2 separate geothermal doublets to quantify the connectivity and residence time between injection and abstraction wells.
Two STREAM fluorometers with a time step of 5 minutes have been installed to provide high temporal resolution data. The injection with the green fluorescent dye attracted a lot of attention from citizens as the doublets are located in a high density urban area.
The field data will improve the accuracy of the models and the optimisation of the geothermal system to ensure its longevity and efficiency.
Other projects we continue to work on are: (1) hydrological studies related to urban planning permit applications, (2) fluorescent dye tracing related to risk assessment of catchment sites in karst environments, and (3) risk and impact assessment at a quarry site.
