TRAQUA NEWS - 2
Welcome to TRAQUA 's short monthly newsletter! The aim is dive into hydro(geo)logy and to provide you with a short overview of news, research articles, TRAQUA's current projects, upcoming events, etc. in a short and light letter.
Let's put groundwater and surface water flows in the spotlight! ??

WHAT IS TRAQUA CURRENTLY WORKING ON?
TRAQUA was selected by the Ville de Rochefort (Belgique) (in the south of Belgium) to implement a quantitative analysis of runoff in a small rural catchment. The aim is to evaluate practical and nature-based solutions to tackle flood risks ??.
First step in any comprehensive field study : the installation of a gauging station to collect reliable discharge data.
Other projects we worked on last month are: (1) the development of a measuring cell in collaboration with Malcourant Mécanique S.A. for the geothermal doublet tracer test, (2) the rental of several field fluorometers for tracer tests abroad, (3) a hydrogeological study on the Saint-Géry Fountain in the municipality of Chastre (Belgium) to determine why the fountain has run dry, (4) multiple hydrological studies for the application of urban planning permits in Wallonia.
WHAT WAS THE MOST VIEWED LINKEDIN POST LAST MONTH?
Last month's winner is 'Historical water infrastructures : Venetian cisterns ?'.

UPCOMING GROUNDWATER EVENTS!
?? EUROKARST, the European bi-annual conference on the Hydrogeology of Karst and Carbonate Reservoirs, will take place this year in Rome from 10-14 of June. https://www.eurokarst.org/
?? TRAQUA has a project call for the second year in a row. The call is aimed at caving associations with a non-commercial project and with a social, environmental, or educational purpose.

?? This month we're also celebrating TRAQUA's 3-year anniversary! Hooray ??!
