TRAQUA NEWS - 1

Welcome to TRAQUA 's first short monthly newsletter! The aim is dive into hydro(geo)logy and to provide you with a short overview of news, research articles, TRAQUA's current projects, upcoming events, etc. in a short and light letter.

Since this is a new format for me as well, the newsletter is open to recommendations for improvements ??.

Let's put groundwater and surface water flows in the spotlight! ??

WHAT IS TRAQUA CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

We're currently much involved in hydrological studies related to urbanism permit applications. Since the introduction of the "Circulaire relative à la constructibilité en zone inondable" in Wallonia in 2022, hydrological studies are required for permit applications for projects located in flood-prone areas. TRAQUA is often consulted by project managers, architects, or development companies to provide this study.

Other projects we worked on last month are: (1) analysis of rainwater storage potential as a mean of flood-risk reduction on communal level, (2) groundwater monitoring at an industrial site, (3) determination of the source of water influx in an old building complex, (4) and preliminary field visit for a tracer tests in geothermal doublets. Very diverse projects as usual ??.

WHAT WAS THE MOST VIEWED LINKEDIN POST LAST MONTH?

The winner of last month is the post 'Historical water infrastructures : Nazca aqueducts or Puquios ??'.
