Warren Buffett acclaims that those of us born in the United States compared to less fortunate parts of the world are genetic lottery winners, i.e., lucky!
How lucky are we?
True wealth is not just about financial success.?During this holiday season, true wealth is about gratitude, appreciation, and the act of giving. Gratitude is one of our greatest gifts; it’s a powerful reminder that life has much to offer. Taking time each day to be grateful for what we have and who we are is a better way to live.
Appreciation is about taking the time to notice and acknowledge what’s special in our lives. When we do that, it helps us show gratitude for something bigger than ourselves. And when we give of ourselves—whether volunteering or donating to a cause close to our hearts- it opens up a world of possibilities and opportunities. This is true wealth.
By cultivating gratitude, appreciation, and giving, we can all achieve a higher level of true wealth that transcends financial success. It’s about understanding our values and finding joy in life through meaningful interactions with those around us. When we understand these three traits, we can create an abundant lifestyle based on living with gratitude, appreciation, and giving.
Truly being lucky is more than just winning the lottery or having luck on your side; it is about recognizing and owning all moments in life that make it unique. From the simple pleasures of a sunny day to something more profound like having a solid support system, focusing our gratitude can help us tap into our luckier side.
Ponder the following:
1. Friends and family who love you and support you unconditionally.
2. A roof over your head, a bed to sleep in, and enough food to eat.
3. Opportunities for growth, learning, and development.
4. The ability to recognize the beauty in nature.

5. The courage to take risks and create a life you want.
6. A sense of humor that helps put tough times into perspective.
7. Time to yourself for self-care and introspection.
8. Financial security, even if it’s not abundant wealth.
9. Experiencing with co-workers that are essential to our lives.
10. Good health that lets you travel, explore and appreciate life’s precious gifts.
Count one's blessings
By counting our blessings each day and appreciating them, we can cultivate a deeper sense of luck that will enrich our lives no matter what kind of fortune comes our way.
The secret to cultivating good luck is recognizing the positive moments and being thankful for them. And to see through the challenges, hardships, and setbacks as means to perhaps a better way or different direction.
Remember that luck isn’t only about having a winning streak; it’s about being open to the surprises that come with living a full life. So, take risks, be positive and have faith in your own luck. With practice, we find that the more we focus on gratitude and appreciation for what we have, the luckier we will become.
The truth is, it’s not really luck that’s making your life better. It’s you. So, the next time something goes your way, don’t just thank your lucky stars – thank yourself too. You are in control of your own destiny and have the power to create a life full of luck!
