I never thought it could happen to me. I always thought that slavery was something that belonged to the past, something that we had left behind. But I was wrong. Because slavery is still alive and well in the 21st century.

I was just a young woman when I was taken from my home. I was living in a small village in Africa, just trying to make a living like everyone else. But then one day, everything changed. I was walking home from the market when I was approached by a man. He seemed friendly at first, but then he grabbed me and threw me into a van.

I was terrified. I didn't know what was happening or where I was going. All I knew was that I was being taken away from everything that I had ever known. I tried to escape, but it was impossible. I was trapped, with no way out. I felt like a prisoner, a slave in the modern world. And I knew that there were many others like me, trapped in the same situation.

It's hard to believe that slavery still exists in the 21st century. But it does. And until we acknowledge it and do something to stop it, there will be many more victims like me, trapped in a world of modern-day slavery.
