What is the best way to uplift and support women in STEM and/or leadership roles?

I believe it’s important to be a friendly face to our fellow women in STEM or leadership roles and to create genuine relationships. Feeling alone can be a scary thing, and knowing that you have support automatically from our fellow women in STEM can make all the difference. Whether you’re venturing out in the industry or looking for some confidence to stick it out, having those relationships goes a long way.

?

What advice do you have for other women in your field?

Never stop learning. You can never have enough knowledge and the more you know, the more value you can add to any situation. Speak confidently and don’t let your voice be lost. Your ideas, your thoughts, and your learning are just as important as anyone’s.? ?

Who serves as a role model to you in your life and/or career?

My greatest role models in life have been my grandparents. My grandfather was an entrepreneur, and I was able to witness him create a successful propane business out of nothing. I can thank my grandmother for my interest in finances and business. She was the first woman in my family to go to school after high school and kept the books for my grandfather. I admired how they never stopped trying to grow in their careers.

?

What motivates you in your life and/or career?

I like a good challenge that gives me a chance to problem-solve. Not knowing the answer can be frustrating, but solving the issue in a new way is both gratifying and gives me a new chance to learn something.?

?

What is your greatest accomplishment OR What is something you hope to accomplish in your career?

My greatest accomplishment in my career, which led me to the leadership roles I have taken on, is becoming an audit partner at KPMG. The journey to that position is one designed to bring success to the hardest-working individuals. All of the lessons I learned on the way to that milestone gave me the confidence in myself to keep striving for more. This achievement was a direct line to where I am today.?

?

What do you love about working at TranSystems? How has TranSystems helped you succeed/grow in your career?

One thing I am grateful for at TranSystems is the people. There are so many great individuals with so many experiences to learn from. Everyone I have worked with is passionate about the current growth of our company, and it’s inspiring to be surrounded by so many people with the same goal.?
