TransWest Adds Leaders from Big Tech

Executive Search Firm Herd Freed Hartz Places VP of People & Culture at Growing Transportation Challenger TransWest.?

SEATTLE, Wash. (August 26, 2021) -- Herd Freed Hartz (HFH) announced today that it has placed Janet Zimmermann as Vice President of People & Culture at TransWest. The position is the second leadership placement completed by Herd Freed Hartz since 2020. The search was conducted by Jim Herd, Managing Partner and Ryan Biancofiori, Managing Director at HFH.

Zimmermann comes from Amazon where she held multiple roles in her four-year tenure including as the HR leader for North America Consumer business, and the Prime Video team. Prior to Amazon, Zimmermann held HR leadership roles at Philips Healthcare, Microsoft and Sun Microsystems. At Microsoft, Zimmermann led HR for Xbox during high growth leading to the successful Xbox One launch. This followed previous roles as the GM of HR for Windows and leading several teams within the compensation and performance management function. Throughout her career, Zimmermann has specialized in working closely with business leaders to develop their talent management strategy and the people practices that power their businesses and culture. “I’m energized by the opportunities and growth ahead for TransWest and humbled to join such a talented team that is dedicated to client service, our core values, and our people,” stated Zimmermann.

Cook is a well-respected operator, change agent and team builder, who joined TransWest from Lyft where she was the head of driver service operations, enabling the success of 800+ field team members across the U.S. and Canada. Prior to joining Lyft, Cook spent 10 years leading global learning and leadership development functions at Amazon, AAA Washington, and PACCAR. She managed Amazon’s Operations Leadership Institute guiding thousands of new employees through a world-class onboarding and assimilation experience. She was also responsible for customer experience and launch operations at Amazon’s first retail presence on college campuses. Cook is drawn to mission-driven organizations that address the needs of vulnerable communities and contribute to a more sustainable planet.
