Transportation of the Dust Utilization System for 1800km

Task: Delivery of the dust utilization system for a metallurgical plant. There are 9 large-sized cargo packages to be transported. The total weight of the cargoes is 360 tons, with a maximum weight of 72.2 tons per unit, a maximum width of 5.3 meters and a maximum height of 4.63 meters. The key task of the project was to develop a route for the safe movement of oversized truck trains.

Solution: Caused that there was no possibility to store the cargo in the sea port, it was decided to load the cargo directly from the vessel onto lowbed trailers. To avoid idle loading capacity, all vehicles arrived at the same time to load the cargo. Another major challenge was the increase in cargo sizes from previously declared. To solve this problem, it was necessary to revise the loading plan, reducing the maximum dimensions of truck trains to those allowed on the route. For some cargoes it was necessary to dismantle spoilers and place them between the beams on a trawl with hydraulic expansion. A total of 9 truck trains, 18 escort cars and 2 repair cars were involved.
