Showcasing Expertise in Sustainable Transport

At TRA2024, we had the opportunity to showcase our expertise in using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Earth Observation (EO) for sustainable transport solutions.

Our proven track record in the transport sector includes:

• Developing a multimodal transit app for Dublin City: This app, built using open-source data, provides users with real-time information on various transportation options, promoting a shift towards sustainable travel choices.
• Creating a visualisation and route planning tool: This tool empowers stakeholders to understand the impact of potential changes to public transport infrastructure, fostering informed decision-making and public engagement.
• Mapping existing transport networks and analysing passenger demand: This allows for the identification of areas that require new infrastructure or improved services, optimising public transport accessibility and utilisation.

Public Transport Accessibility Tools Take Centre Stage

During the conference, we were particularly excited to see the National Transport Authority (NTA) present on two key public transport GIS analysis toolboxes developed by Compass Informatics: Public Transport Accessibility Levels (PTALs) and Access to Opportunities and Services (ATOS).

These innovative tools enable a detailed assessment of public transport accessibility across different areas, along with access to essential services and opportunities. This data is crucial for the NTA’s evidence-based decision-making processes, ensuring that public transport development caters to the needs of the entire community.
