Transparency Issues with BigBasket: A Consumer's Experience

Today, I encountered a recurring issue with bigbasket that I believe needs to be addressed. Whenever I order vegetables or fruits, the app shows an exact amount, but when proceeding to payment, there's a slight increase in the billing amount. This has been happening with every order recently.
Yesterday, I ordered a few items, and two of them were not good. I opted to return them. The total refund amount shown in the app was ?114.27, but the refund I received in my wallet was ?110.75. The small difference might go unnoticed by many, but it adds up over time.
For instance, the app showed the prices as:
However, the invoice listed them as:
Moreover, bigbasket sells these items as "1 pc (approx 500 g to 1 kg)," making it difficult to verify the initial weight and rate per gram. When I contacted customer support, they explained that the price changes due to variable weight are updated at the time of packing.
This raises a significant transparency issue. Prices and quantities can be adjusted on the app, but why not communicate these changes clearly? Selling items as "1 pc" with an approximate weight range makes it challenging to determine the actual rate.
After reviewing my previous orders, I found similar discrepancies and order modifications communicated via email. This seems like a convenient way to obscure the true costs.
It's time for BigBasket to address these transparency issues and ensure fair pricing for all customers. Let's hold them accountable for better practices.
