Transition from school to work
Since retiring from full time work a few years back, I have had plenty of time to reflect on my working career, its challenges, and on the challenges of "retirement". One thing that struck me and my associates more than anything, was the waste of knowledge and life experience that disappears from the workplace with the thousands of people that choose "retirement" every year.
There are plenty of options for volunteer work with numerous worthwhile clubs and charities and the like, to keep you occupied. But what about mentoring of the group of young people leaving school, entering further education, or starting a new job for the first time?
Not every child has the opportunity to grow up in a safe and nurturing environment. Not every child has the understanding of the basic principles of Personal responsibility, Honesty, Integrity, Trust, Attitude, Safety and how those timeless principles can affect their ability to learn and be successful in work and life.
Over the last few years, I have developed a module called "PHITAS", expanding on the principles mentioned above. Depending on numbers, I would anticipate the module to take about 2-3 hours to present, depending on questions.
If you are a school, RTO, trade college, or apprentice trainer that feels this program may be of benefit to your students, then I am happy to donate my time to present the program.

The world our children are growing up in is vastly different in technology, and the challenges they face were inconceivable in my generations formative years, but the basic principles of being a decent human being remain timeless.
