Transforming Your Journey Into an Inspiring Story

Transforming Your Journey Into an Inspiring Story

A hero on a mission, that's the most recent book that I have read. It was interesting how he talked about most people playing the victim, but really wanting to be the hero. It really grabbed my attention.?

Beyond the Surface of Transformation

He put it very plainly that when a story necessitates a transformation, that's really when you grab the audience and when you bring people along. If you can't create that transformation, then you won’t grab the audience’s attention and bring them along with you.?

The example he gave, which I thought was brilliant, was that there are so many books and stories out there about losing weight. It's a dime a dozen and everybody wants to be healthy. How do you identify that story or that a specific book is going to help you transform into the hero of your story?

What’s Your Story?

And he said, “You can find plenty of those stories or books — like I said, they’re a dime a dozen. But the story that is really going to grab and bring you along is one that says, ‘You know what? I wanted to ride my bike across the country. To do that, I had to get healthy, which ultimately led me to lose weight.’ That’s the story you can really get behind and follow because it’s about a full transformation. It’s not just about losing weight; it’s about the entire journey of getting there.”

In this case, the example was a guy who wanted to ride his bike across the country. I mean, what a challenge that would be, right?

I'm curious and wondering, have you thought about what your transformation story would be that would bring the audience along with you? I can think of a few things that come to my mind for myself personally. Maybe I'll get into that a little later, but what are those journeys for you? How have you been able to transform? And can you turn that into a story that makes you the hero?
