Transforming Surplus Food into Delicious Meals: Our Efforts to Reduce Waste

At Strip, we believe in the power of food to bring people together and to nourish both the body and the planet. That's why we're committed to food sustainability and reducing waste, every day of the year.

?

Food waste is a significant problem with an estimated one-third of all food produced globally going uneaten:

?

To combat this issue, we've taken several steps to minimize food waste in our restaurants and cafes. One of our key approaches is transforming surplus food into delicious and nutritious meals.

By using surplus food that would otherwise have gone to waste, we're able to create menu items that are not only delicious and healthy but also help to reduce waste.

We also collaborate with Too Good To Go , an app that connects customers with local restaurants that have surplus food at a discounted price. This helps reduce waste and provides customers with delicious and affordable meals.

?

Additionally, we utilize Winnow 's smart scales that use AI to analyse food being thrown away and reduce unnecessary waste. By tracking and analysing our food usage, we are able to identify areas for improvement and reduce the amount of food waste generated in our kitchens.

  • ?Through winnow we have saved 616 KG of Co2 emissions in January which is equivalent to 21 car trips from Eindhoven to Amsterdam.

At Strip, we believe that food is a precious resource that should be valued and respected. According to the United Nations, if food waste were reduced by just 25%, it could feed 870 million hungry people globally.

By working together, we can create a more sustainable food system and reduce the impact of food waste on our planet. Let's celebrate our efforts to reduce waste by committing to sustainable food practices.
