Transforming Spaces: From Lunchroom to New Offices
As the holiday season approached, so did another big transformation in our workspace. One long-standing challenge at G?thes S?kerhet AB (GS) had been the lack of optimal workspaces. With limited office space and an environment that wasn’t fully supporting our team's needs, it was time for a change.
To create new, well-designed offices while keeping the GS team together, we made a strategic decision—repurposing our existing lunchroom. Located just above the GS department, this space was already well-connected to existing workstations. By transforming it into offices, we not only provided the much-needed workspaces but also ensured that the GS team remained united under one roof, maintaining the strong sense of collaboration and teamwork that defines us.
But what about the lunchroom? Instead of simply relocating it, we saw an opportunity. The newly planned entrance area became the perfect location—not just for a new and improved lunchroom but also as a central hub for shared spaces. Here, we’re bringing together essential community areas like the new bar, showroom, conference rooms, locker rooms, and even the gym. This shift ensures that all three of our businesses can work efficiently without disrupting their existing office layouts.
For now, with the old lunchroom gone and the new one still under construction, we’ve temporarily transformed our large conference room into a dining space. And once the new lunchroom is ready, this conference area will be repurposed as a kitchenette for GS—perfectly placed to support their team without them having to walk too far. But more details on that will come as the project unfolds!
