Transforming Pasadena: From Boulevard to Arena

In short, the projected completion dates have not changed, as forward movement continues. Pasadena Boulevard is scheduled to be completed by Summer 2025. Pasadena Arena & Convention Center's Expansion & Renovation will be completed by Fall 2025.

PASADENA BOULEVARD: A NEW LOOK FOR A VIBRANT COMMUNITY

The one-mile stretch of reconstruction of Pasadena Boulevard is underway. This transformative project will enhance safety, accessibility and aesthetics. Starting at Harris Avenue, improvements will continue moving north to SH 225.

Ground broke on February 5, 2024. Key benefits of the $16.1M project, upon completion, will include:

• Improved traffic flow and reduced congestion
• Enhanced pedestrian safety with new sidewalks and crosswalks
• A more inviting atmosphere with landscaping and beautification efforts
• Increased economic opportunities with new businesses and redevelopment

With the area's increased activity, these improvements will only advance the communities into a brighter future.

PASADENA ARENA & CONVENTION CENTER

The Pasadena Convention Center has always been a place for trade shows, festivals and more. This $50M project, funded by Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, set to renovate and expand on the existing facility will offer more gathering accommodations in a state-of-the-art venue dubbing it the new Pasadena Arena & Convention Center.

Key features of the renovated and expanded center, upon completion, will include:

• A seating capacity of 7,500 for concerts, performances, graduations and more
• A spacious arena for conferences and exhibitions
• Modern amenities and technology

The project will enhance our city's cultural offerings and boost our local economy through increased tourism and economic activity providing opportunities for:

• Hotel accommodations
• Restaurants
• Local shopping
• Transportation (rental cars/ride-share/public transportation)
