Transformational change has been defined as "That change that requires the majority of the organization's environment changes, its business strategy has to change. This, in turn, requires the organization structure to change and leads to individual roles changing - not only what a person is expected to do but how he/she should do it. This is not as simple as the linear logic depicts.
The organization itself already an organic culture - mainly unconsciously held beliefs about 'the way we do things around here'. People are reluctant to question it for it makes them feel as if they were not as clever as they thought they were. At, the individual level, each one of us is a 'product' of our personal; & professional pasts that make our very identity - how we define ourselves. when we required to change, people naturally 'defend' themselves.
This is the area where my colleagues and I work. Many times we are not required to help clients transform the total organization but parts of it - SBUs, Departments/Functions, Teams, etc. Nevertheless the above phenomena of resisting change Occurs - even amongst those who are the initiators of the change!

6 年Very true. With what's ahead for the industries to face, transformational changes are a must to be incorporated by any sort of industry; which has substantially changed the conventional transactional behavior into a transformational one.
