Transforming Mindset

Each Monday I write a regular post on LinkedIn called, "Mindset Monday" which looks at how we can keep our mindset healthy and in a growth mindset. This week I want to take the opportunity to discuss Mindset on the DigiTech Leaders Newsletter. Our mindset shapes our thoughts, feelings, and actions, making it our most potent asset.

Several years ago, I experienced a period of profound self-reflection akin to a midlife awakening.. or crisis. It dawned on me that many of my beliefs were handed down through generations and were no longer relavent or serving me. Thus began my journey of discerning between Empowering Beliefs and Limiting Beliefs, shaping a mindset aligned with my aspirations.

Contrary to quick fixes, this journey is ongoing. Just as physical fitness demands consistent nutrition and exercise, mental fitness requires continuous nourishment and practice, such as through affirmations and mindfulness.

As leaders, it's crucial to monitor not only our own mindset but also that of our teams. A team embodying positive beliefs yields exponential gains in productivity and efficiency, inspiring others in the process. Conversely, a team entrenched in negative beliefs poses challenges.

Through personalized guidance and workshops, it's possible to facilitate mindset shifts within teams. However, it necessitates introspection and commitment from leaders.

As a leader there is a good chance that you will face self doubt from time to time. When I encounter self-doubt, I challenge myself by asking a simple question, "What if the opposite were true?"

I believe that by fostering a growth mindset within ourselves and our teams, we embark on a journey of continual improvement and empowerment, both personally and professionally.
