Transforming Information to Knowledge is Instrumental

"Today knowledge has power. It controls access to opportunity and advancement".
Peter Drucker

Abiding by the words of Peter Drucker, knowledge beholds an incredible power to beat physical strength, empower our growth in the society, make us humble in our achievements, and enable us to discover new horizons of life. Indeed to mention, that no individual, society, community, or nation can prosper without knowledge.

In the current era, we all have become addicted to digital channels and technological devices. We keep juggling our fingers on keyboards, mobiles, smartphones, and other similar devices to source information and knowledge we aspire to receive. But think wisely, what do you source from the web? Information or knowledge? To be precise, it’s only information that we can extract from there because knowledge cannot be gained from the web but comes from real life experiences by validating interpretation of the reality.

We all know the seasons of the year; we all have read about the seed germination process; we all are well acquainted with the fact that Earth revolves and rotates. But, do you know how and why seasons change? Do you know how the seed grows into a plant? Do you understand how and why rotation and revolution of the Earth take place? This understanding of ‘How and Why’ indicates a clear differentiation between information and knowledge.

Information is defined as refined data that improves your representation of an object, thing or person. In contrast, knowledge connotes the understanding and awareness of the subject obtained through learning, perceiving or discovering. This, in turn, increases consciousness and makes us amass the wealth for becoming powerful. Once we gain this incredible power of knowledge, we open ourselves to opportunities, heightened achievements, and advancements that further becomes a virtue of wisdom and perseverance.

Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft; Hippocrates, the founder of medicine; Amitabh Bachchan, an Indian actor; are all a live testimony to the power of knowledge. Many more have burnt the midnight oil to hold on to the power of knowledge and have controlled access to the roadmap of success. Any one of us can be next!
