We all agreed that removing barriers in the healthcare system is a highly complex issue, and one that gets in the way of providing overall quality and value for patients.?
Larry Levitt , executive vice president of health policy at KFF , shared a thought-provoking look at what is ahead for health care in 2023 - which is projected to cost approximately $220 billion more over the next four years.

As business leaders, we all should be asking, “How can we improve the value of health care in the U.S. and make health care more affordable?”?
The discussion was inspired by the lived patient experiences of Ira Goodman and Tabitha Ellis, two Young Professionals Board members in the Association’s NYC Division who provided their unique patient perspectives about navigating the healthcare system.???
Their stories provided a startling backdrop to the broader conversation moderated by Susan Dentzer , CEO, America's Physician Groups , who engaged Dan Mendelson , CEO, Morgan Health ; Don Deep, M.D. , CEO, Central Ohio Primary Care ; and Adam Beck , vice president, Employer Health Policy and Initiatives, AHIP on answers to address the barriers.
Together, we explored solutions to advance health equity and strengthen primary care, prevention and mental health services. Additionally, we discussed ideas to align and incentivize employee health benefits with population health outcomes and embrace new person-centered care delivery and payment models.
It was a great experience to be part of this esteemed group of experts and thought leaders to help chart a new direction to improve employee health outcomes, affordability, equity and quality.?
