Transforming healthcare. Improving lives. Vodafone's partnership with Centre for Health.

My thoughts from GIANT Health event, what’s in the market and how Vodafone can support the conversation with Deloitte.

I’ve been to a few events over my time, some interesting, some not so much, but I can tell you every event I’ve been to always has the same main topic, data, connectivity, and patients. Rightly so to, right? But the one thing which really stands out to me is how we, as suppliers, give a product rather than a solution and I’m hoping in this short article I’ll be able to articulate how this has changed with the partnership and how we’re coming to organisations with solutions, rather than a product that fits part.

Every single piece of technology which is being adopted within the Public Sector, must have a greater impact on the citizens they serve, it must provide a better patient route, provide a better outcome. Which in turn, helps the organisations become more seamless, more integrated and time efficient.

I may be na?ve in my thinking, but I feel suppliers approached organisations with ‘what can we sell’, rather than ‘what can we achieve by deploying this?’. This has narrative has certainly changed within Vodafone and especially with our newfound partnership with Deloitte. We want to make a greater impact; we want to do right, and we want the patient to notice the benefits of a better Public Sector system which puts them at the forefront.

During the past couple of days, the constant topic of conversation was preventative care, allowing people to have the tools to self-diagnose, relieving the stress on A&E and GP’s to concentrate on the pocket of individuals who can’t do the above or haven’t got the means to. 80% of the care starts at the GP, but with 20% of the budget and staff of the Acute Trusts, if we’re able to give the GP’s and patients the tools to help themselves, this will provide real time outcomes to the staff pressures we’re already seeing.

Transforming Healthcare. Improving Lives. The partnership we now have with Deloitte is unmatched, the reference sites we’re developing, the enhanced understanding of digital strategies and patient care routes. Through this partnership we’re genuinely able to come to organisations with solutions based on their problem statements, showing them the art of the possible and how allowing us to become a trusted adviser will allow us to allow you to become efficient and give more time back to support the Health and Care of your citizens.

We’re not here to just sell you anything and everything, we’re genuinely here because we believe in the impact technology can have on the Public Sector. We’re here to listen, to be that trusted source which can tell you what’s going on in the market, what we’ve seen, what trends we’re paying attention to, what solutions we think your problem needs, not what product is partly suited. We’re here to adapt, technology is constantly changing, we need to move at pace to make sure whatever solution we’re talking to you about is future proofed, thought through, compliant and risk assured. We’re here to be guided, we want to become the Trusted Adviser, but we want you to come to us with other ways of thinking, what else can we do as a partner to help you on your digital journey, what do you think will help the patient, the clinician?

I hope this gives a quick outline of what we’re doing and how we’re here to help. If you have any questions, please reach out and I’ll be happy to support.

Well said Sal Hrynkiewicz AMBCS. Too often people come to us with something to sell. Not to come and understand what we need and how they can help. We need partners not suppliers. We need people who research us before engaging and have an idea about what we are aiming to do. We also need organisations to realise when we are not an opportunity for them right now, and then to not try to still sell something just to make a sale. The NHS budget is public money. It’s all our money. So let’s make sure we spend that wisely and with consideration. After all, we will all need the service at some point in our lives. #vodafone #deloitte #nhs #digital

The word ‘trust’ appearing so frequently is super powerful here, Sal - especially given the sentiment of public sector investment. Great write up, thanks for sharing. ????

Great read Sal. ?? Hits home as I’m a type 1 diabetic. I’m extremely lucky to have some transformational tech that has made such a huge difference for me managing the condition (and ultimately my life!).
