I enter the WeWork offices and am immediately embraced by the genesis and principles of the Slingshot team “We hire primary thinkers and we trust them,” and “We stay agile to optimize our velocity.” The foundation and building blocks of the company stem from David’s core values of gratitude, empathy, and spiritual belief. In our increasingly individualistic society, learning Dr. Berman’s story is a welcome respite from the norm. A true entrepreneur, with a humble yet straightforward approach at the cornerstone of his narrative, Dr. Berman’s first foray into business ownership was selling and installing CB radios 30 years ago. With a close friend, they marketed, sold, and installed CB radios for 2 years. Then he sashayed into his lifelong dedication and an unrivaled sense of mission to giving back to his community. “There are sharper tacks in the drawer,” he recalls his father saying to him, and “Put the time in, practice, learn, and practice again.” Undoubtedly his parents instilled the work ethic and drive that has taken him to where he is today. His father was the Chairman of his town’s Ethics Board for 35 years, and David spent several thousand hours volunteering at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. Every year explores and starts a new passion and or hobby. 

While running his private practice as a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist and Internist for over three decades, Dr. Berman launched Slingshot Health, an online healthcare marketplace that is risk-free and matches patients with healthcare providers, regardless of insurance status.
