Transforming Data and Myself: Reflections on My 2024 Winter Internship Experience at EY
Last Friday marked not just the end of my internship at EY, but the beginning of a future inspired by the lessons, experiences, and connections I've made in the past few months. As I reflect on my time with the EDGE Data & Technology team, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the opportunity to dive into the world of data transformation and analysis, and for the mentorship that has propelled my personal and professional growth. I'm amazed at how far I’ve come, not just in my technical skills, particularly in Alteryx and Excel, but also in my understanding of the intricacies of our tax services and the importance of technology in driving innovation and efficiency. The opportunity to work on meaningful projects and transform data to support our team's objectives not only challenged me but also deepened my appreciation for the role of data in how we deliver our services. These experiences have been invaluable in teaching me the importance of collaboration, analytical thinking, and the power of leveraging technology to solve complex problems.
But what truly stood out was the culture of mentorship and support at EY. From my very first counselor meeting to the wrap-up of my internship, the guidance I received was unparalleled. Engagements with the Federal Tax Advisory team, interactions with partners during various Lunch with Leaders sessions, and the collaborative spirit of my peers pushed me to not just meet but exceed expectations. I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. Not only have I gained a wealth of knowledge and skills, but I've also built lasting relationships with mentors and colleagues who have inspired me with their passion, dedication, and professionalism. The mentorship I received went beyond professional guidance; it was a source of encouragement and motivation, pushing me to explore my potential and aspire for excellence in everything I do.
Looking ahead, I am excited to embark on the next chapter of my career, armed with the knowledge, skills, and connections I've made during my time here at EY. I am immensely grateful for this journey and for everyone who played a part in making it a possibility. The lessons learned, friendships made, and experiences shared will undoubtedly influence my career going forward. I want to extend my deepest gratitude to Craig Frabotta , Josh Perles, and Jamison Meredith , whose visionary leadership and unwavering support have been instrumental in my development. To the folks on the EDGE team: Larry Rowe , Yuli Chen, CPA , Ha Tran , Yusra Khawaja, CPA , Cate Stewart , Cody Copeland , Miguel F. Papadopulos, MS , Anjila Takhachhen , Yiming (Ethan) Jin , Aniket Chaudhari , Lester Lopes , and many others, and to my recruiters, Alex Swit and Jenn Petinge , you guys are incredible, and I hope we get to work together again soon. Thank you for making my internship experience one to remember.
