Despite India's vast 120 million hectares of fertile farmland and diverse climatic zones, the country has not been able to keep up with the agricultural capabilities that other countries, like the Netherlands, have been able to achieve with less hectares of farmland.
The missing element is not resources but the scientific understanding of plant growth and needs, encompassing agronomy, plant pathology, and plant entomology.
This critical insight led to the founding of Fasal, which was founded to bridge this gap and elevate Indian agriculture to its rightful place.
At Fasal, we have revolutionised agriculture by combining farm IoT, imagery, crop science algorithms, and data science to deliver farm-level, crop-specific, and crop-stage-specific actionable intelligence. This innovative technology helps farmers understand their crops needs through advanced scientific insights. As a result, farmers across over 80,000 acres in numerous Indian districts are achieving yields and quality that match global standards.
Our impact includes:
● Water Conservation: Our farmers have conserved 80 billion liters of water, equivalent to 32,000 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
● Emission Reduction: We have reduced 56,000 metric tons of greenhouse gas emissions, matching the absorption capacity of 2.5 million trees in a year.
● Pesticide Reduction: Farmers have saved 156,000 kilograms of pesticides, equivalent to the weight of 26 elephants.
● Yield Improvement: Farmers have reported yield improvements ranging from 15% to 50%.

Expanding Globally
Thousands of marginal, medium, and large farmers across India deploy Fasal’s technology. Our product design is universally applicable, benefiting farmers regardless of their education, location, crop type, soil condition, weather, language, or experience. The intelligence generated by our product is rooted in agricultural sciences like agronomy, pathology, and entomology, ensuring its relevance across different contexts.
We have recently started deploying our first set of devices in Southeast Asia, testing the value of the technology outside of India. We now have nearly 100 Fasal devices deployed across Thailand, Malaysia, and Indonesia, all without local sales, service, or agronomy teams. Our hardware is self-service, allowing farmers to deploy it themselves, while the science-based software ensures consistent results globally. This has generated great excitement among our team and stakeholders.
Future Plans in Southeast Asia
Building on these milestones, we plan to expand significantly in Southeast Asia this financial year, with a strategic focus on Malaysia and Indonesia. Our goal is to help farmers in these countries grow more efficiently, improve their crop quality, and enhance their marketability. Our recent partnership initiation with Agros beginning of our deeper engagement in the region.
We remain enthusiastic about these markets and are eager to connect with potential partners, farmers, and supporters to further our mission.
From India to Southeast Asia, Fasal is committed to transforming agriculture through technology, ensuring sustainable growth, and empowering farmers worldwide.
