The Transformative Power of Compassion with Dr. Dan Singley
Fathering Together
A 501c3 Nonprofit supporting individuals who identify as fathers to become better parents and people.
Intro
Dr. Dan Singley may be the Founder of the Center for Men's Excellence, but for anyone who has met him, fatherhood is central to his identify and he does his best to bring home the good practices he works on with clients into the relationships he has at home.
What struck me most during my conversation with Dan was how little we've paid attention to fatherhood models and just how few models there are to begin with. Most of us in the United States were given the narrative that we had to be a breadwinner... end of story.
But more and more, dads around the country and globe are begging for new models. For Dan, he bases his model in compassion and the important groundwork it lays for everything else. It reminded me of my own father who told me on the eve of my wedding day the most important lesson he could give me was to be kind to my wife and future children.
So as you listen to Dan's words of wisdom, I challenge you to reflect on where compassion does and doesn't fit into your #DadLife!
